How it works
A doubled word is the same word twice with only spaces or a line break between them. Numbers such as 10 10 are not flagged.
The repeated words table shows each word used at least the minimum number of times, the count, and the line numbers where it appears.
Words are found with Unicode word rules, so accented letters and other scripts work. Contractions like don't count as one word.
The table shows up to 500 words and the first 20 line numbers per word. Text over 300,000 characters is rejected.
Everything runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored.
Questions and answers
How do I find repeated words in my writing?
Paste the text and press Run. The table lists every word used two or more times, starting with the most frequent.
Why does it find the the when my spell checker does not?
Each word is spelled correctly, so many spell checkers skip it. This tool looks for the same word twice in a row.
Does it treat The and the as the same word?
Yes, by default. Set Ignore case to No to count them separately.
