How to use the duplicate line remover

  1. Paste your list into the One item per line box.
  2. Set Ignore case and Ignore outer spaces to Yes or No.
  3. Choose First or Last under Keep occurrence.
  4. Press Run, then Copy result or Download.

How it works

Lines that remain stay in their original order. They are not sorted.

Ignore case treats Ada and ADA as the same line. Ignore outer spaces treats a line with extra spaces at either end as equal to the same text without them.

The kept line keeps its original spelling and spacing, even when matching ignores those differences.

Blank lines count as lines too, so repeated blank lines shrink to a single one.

With Last selected, each line appears in the position of its final copy.

Everything runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored.

Questions and answers

How do I remove duplicate lines?

Paste the text with one item per line and press Run. Every repeated line is removed, and one copy of each stays.

Does it sort the list?

No. The order stays as it was. Use the Line sorter afterward if you want the result in order.

Can it ignore uppercase and lowercase?

Yes. Set Ignore case to Yes so lines that differ only in letter case count as duplicates.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Duplicates are removed on your device in the browser, and the list is not sent anywhere.
