How it works
Sale price = original price x (1 - discount). A second discount is taken off the already reduced price, and each step is rounded to the cent.
Stacked discounts multiply, so 20% then 10% off is a 28% combined discount, not 30%.
Percent off = (original - sale) / original x 100. A sale price above the original is rejected because that is a price increase.
Discounts must be 0% to 100% and the original price must be greater than 0.

Questions and answers
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the price by the discount percent and subtract it. 25% off $80 is $80 - $20 = $60.
Is 20% off plus 10% off the same as 30% off?
No. The second discount applies to the reduced price, so the combined discount is 28%.
How do I find the percent off from the sale price?
Subtract the sale price from the original, divide by the original and multiply by 100. Choose Find the percent off to do this.
