How to use the csv row deduplicator

  1. Paste CSV with a header row into the CSV with a header box.
  2. Set Input separator, then fill in Match columns, comma-separated; blank means all.
  3. Choose First or Last under Keep matching row.
  4. Press Run, then Copy result or Download.

How it works

Matching is exact. Case, spaces and punctuation must be the same for two rows to count as duplicates.

The header row is always kept, and the rows that remain stay in their original order.

With Last selected, the final copy of each duplicate group is kept, in the position where it appeared.

Column names must match the header exactly. Put quotes around a name that contains a comma. Unknown or repeated names are rejected.

The output uses the same separator as the input.

Everything runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored.

Questions and answers

How do I remove duplicate rows in a CSV?

Paste the CSV, leave Match columns blank to compare whole rows, and press Run. Each repeated row is removed and one copy stays.

Can I find duplicates based on one column?

Yes. Type that column name, such as email, in the Match columns box. Rows with the same value there count as duplicates even if other cells differ.

Does it ignore uppercase and lowercase?

No. Matching is exact, so [email protected] and [email protected] are treated as different rows.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Rows are compared in your browser, and the CSV never leaves your computer.
