How to use the csv column selector

  1. Paste CSV with a header row into the CSV with a header box.
  2. Set Input separator, then list names in Column names, comma-separated.
  3. Under Action, choose Keep in this order or Remove these columns.
  4. Press Run, then Copy result or Download.

How it works

Keep in this order outputs only the listed columns, in the order you typed them, so it can also reorder columns.

Remove these columns drops the listed columns and keeps the rest in their original order.

Names must match the header exactly, including case. Quote a name that contains a comma.

At least one column must remain. An empty list, an unknown name or a repeated name stops with an error.

Every row is kept, and the output uses the same separator as the input.

Everything runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored.

Questions and answers

How do I delete a column from a CSV file?

Type the column name in Column names, set Action to Remove these columns, and press Run. Separate several names with commas.

Can I reorder CSV columns?

Yes. Choose Keep in this order and list every column you want in the new order.

What if a column name has a comma?

Wrap that name in double quotes in the list, for example name,"City, State".

Is my file uploaded?

No. Columns are selected right in the browser tab, and your file is not sent anywhere.
