For companies · Logistics and shipment data
License your logistics and shipment records.
Dispatches, shipment events and delivery records show how goods moved and where plans changed. SnowRock helps carriers, brokers and shippers explore licensing records for an agreed buyer use.
Discuss logistics dataStart with transport types, such as truck or rail, plus regions, dates and the shipment events you can connect.
The records you create
Shipment plans, movements and exceptions.
Dispatches and bookings
Shipment references, transport mode, origin and destination areas, equipment needs and scheduled times.
Movement and delivery
Pickup, departure, arrival and delivery events, with timestamps, time zones and recorded exceptions.
Rates and resolved issues
Quotes, agreed charges, extra fees, claims and the recorded response to delays or damage, where sharing is permitted.
Why a buyer may license it
Study freight prices and delivery performance.
Buyers need a consistent way to compare routes and distinguish planned events from actual ones. An agreed license could support:
- Researching rates, volume and service performance for a defined set of routes.
- Testing arrival estimates or exception handling against recorded events and outcomes.
Tell SnowRock which modes, routes, periods and event details you need. State whether you require quotes, accepted rates or final charges, and historical files or regular updates.
Industry example
SONAR supplies market data to Transfix pricing tools.
Announced data partnership · December 2024
SONAR announced in December 2024 that its truckload rates, volumes and capacity data would feed Transfix’s broker pricing tools. FreightWaves described Transfix as an existing SONAR customer.
SONAR’s separately published standard license permits specified internal pricing, analysis and models, while restricting redistribution of underlying data.
The standard license says customers pay FreightWaves fees set in an order form. The Transfix partnership’s price and payment terms are not published.
This example concerns market data supplied to pricing tools. Standard customer terms do not reveal Transfix’s negotiated rights.
Before preparing files
What to discuss with SnowRock.
You do not need to send raw records to begin. Tell us what your company has and which licensing options you would consider.
- Modes, routes and dates
- Name regions, transport modes, dates and approximate shipment counts. State whether times are planned or actual and which time zones and location detail are available.
- Links and definitions
- Describe how shipment references connect dispatches, events, charges and claims. Identify cancelled loads, duplicated events, missing deliveries and changes in route or fee definitions.
- Contracts and location detail
- Name who can approve sharing and review shipper, carrier and broker agreements. Identify driver information, precise locations and customer pricing that need a narrower scope or preparation.
Your company agrees the terms
Discuss licensing your logistics records.
Your company and the buyer agree which records may be licensed, permitted uses, preparation, delivery and price. Your company delivers the agreed data directly to the buyer. The buyer pays your company for the data license. SnowRock’s buyer-paid fee is agreed separately.
