For companies · Legal and contract data

License your legal and contract records.

Contracts, clause reviews and approved guidance record how your legal team reads and edits documents. SnowRock helps companies explore licensing material they can authorize for a buyer’s agreed use.

Discuss legal data

Start with document types, the countries or states covered and the person who can approve sharing.

The records you create

Documents and the reviews linked to them.

  • Contracts and revisions

Drafts, signed versions and amendments with links between document versions.

  • Review notes

Clause labels, marked changes and recorded reasons for accepting or rejecting edits.

  • Guidance and sources

Playbooks, approved templates and references used in a review, with authors and dates.

Why a buyer may license it

Develop tools for contract review and legal research.

A buyer can seek documents with the context needed for a particular task. An agreed license could support:

  • Testing whether AI finds clauses against lawyer-reviewed labels.
  • Researching how wording changes between drafts and approved versions.

Tell SnowRock which documents and countries or states you need, whether reviews or revisions must be linked, and whether you want training, testing or search access.

Industry example

LexisNexis content reaches Harvey’s research tools.

Announced alliance and launched integration · 2025

Harvey and LexisNexis announced an alliance in June 2025. In August, Harvey launched Ask LexisNexis, giving users citation-backed answers drawn from LexisNexis U.S. case law, statutes, codes and agency decisions.

For a separate open-license example, Atticus publishes CUAD: 510 commercial contracts with more than 13,000 labels covering 41 clause types, under CC BY 4.0.

Harvey’s announcements about LexisNexis give no payment terms or permission for others to reuse the publisher’s content.

These examples cover publisher law content and an open contract collection. Private client files need their own permission review.

Before preparing files

What to discuss with SnowRock.

You do not need to send raw records to begin. Tell us what your company has and which licensing options you would consider.

Documents and coverage
Name document types, countries or states, languages, dates and approximate counts. Separate public material from private client records.
Versions and decisions
Explain how clauses, changes, reviewer notes and approved versions connect. Identify missing files and whether a review records its reasoning.
Permissions and review
Name who can approve a license. Ask your authorized reviewer to identify confidential legal advice, client obligations, personal information and third-party content that limit sharing or use.

Your company agrees the terms

Discuss licensing your legal records.

Your company and the buyer agree which records may be licensed, permitted uses, preparation, delivery and price. Your company delivers the agreed data directly to the buyer. The buyer pays your company for the data license. SnowRock’s buyer-paid fee is agreed separately.
