How it works
Rounding works on the digits you typed, not on floating point, so -2.675 to 2 places with ties away from zero gives -2.68.
Ties to even, also called banker's rounding, sends an exact half to the even digit. At 0 places, 2.5 becomes 2 and 3.5 becomes 4.
Toward zero cuts off extra digits. Down toward negative infinity is floor and Up toward positive infinity is ceiling, so -2.1 at 0 places floors to -3.
Negative decimal places round to the left of the point. 1234 at -2 places is 1200.
Results are padded to the exact number of places, so 3 at 2 places is 3.00. Up to 200 digits and an exponent from -1000 to 1000 are accepted.

Questions and answers
How do you round to 2 decimal places?
Look at the third decimal digit. If it is 5 or more, raise the second digit by one, otherwise leave it. 3.14159 rounds to 3.14.
What is banker's rounding?
It rounds exact halves to the nearest even digit, so at 2 places 0.125 becomes 0.12 and 0.135 becomes 0.14. Over many values, it avoids nudging totals upward.
Why does -2.675 round to -2.67 in some software?
Many programs store 2.675 as a binary value slightly smaller than 2.675, so it rounds the wrong way. This tool rounds the exact decimal you typed.
