How to use the faq schema generator

  1. Type each pair in the input box as a line starting with Q: and a line starting with A:, with a blank line between pairs.
  2. Press Run.
  3. Use Copy result and paste the script tag into the page that shows the same questions and answers.

How it works

The output is a script tag of type application/ld+json holding a FAQPage with one Question and acceptedAnswer for each pair.

Text is JSON-escaped, and <, > and & are written as Unicode escapes so an answer cannot end the script tag early.

An answer may span several lines; the lines are joined with spaces. Up to 100 pairs are accepted.

Questions and answers

Will FAQ schema give my site rich results in Google?

Probably not. Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known, authoritative government and health sites. The markup is still valid structured data.

Do the questions have to be visible on the page?

Yes. Structured data should describe content that visitors can see on the page.

Where do I put the JSON-LD script?

Anywhere in the page's HTML. Many sites place it in the head or at the end of the body.
