How to use the pressure converter
- Type a pressure of zero or greater, such as 1.
- Choose the starting unit in From, such as Standard atmospheres (atm).
- Choose the target unit in To, such as Kilopascals (kPa).
- Press Run to get the converted pressure. Use Copy result or Download to save it.
How it works
Supported units: pascals, kilopascals, megapascals, bar, millibar, standard atmospheres, psi and torr.
One standard atmosphere is 101,325 pascals, and one torr is 1/760 of an atmosphere.
One bar is 100,000 pascals, and one millibar is 100 pascals.
It converts units only. It does not add or remove air pressure to change gauge pressure, like a tire reading, into absolute pressure.
Negative pressures are not accepted.
Everything runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored.
Questions and answers
How many psi are in one bar?
One bar is about 14.5038 psi.
How many kPa are in one atmosphere?
One standard atmosphere is 101.325 kPa, or about 14.696 psi.
Is torr the same as mmHg?
They are very close but not exactly equal. This tool uses torr, defined as 1/760 of a standard atmosphere.
What is gauge pressure?
Gauge pressure is measured relative to the air around you, so a flat tire reads 0. This tool converts the number you enter without changing it between gauge and absolute.
