Solve for: Speed Speed: 60 Speed unit: km/h Distance: 42.195 Distance unit: km Time: 3:30:00
Speed: 12.0557 km/h Speed = distance / time Speed: 12.0557 km/h, 7.49107 mph, 3.34881 m/s, 6.50956 knots Distance: 42.195 km, 26.2188 mi, 42195 m, 22.7835 nautical miles Time: 3:30:00, which is 3.5 hours or 210 minutes
How to use the speed, distance and time calculator
- Choose what to find under Solve for.
- Fill in the other two: Speed with its Speed unit, Distance with its Distance unit, or Time as h:mm:ss.
- Press Run to see the answer and the same values in every unit.
- Press Copy result or Download to keep the results.
How it works
The formulas are speed = distance / time, distance = speed x time and time = distance / speed. The field you are solving for is ignored.
Time accepts h:mm:ss such as 3:30:00, h:mm such as 1:45, or decimal hours such as 1.5. Time output is rounded to a tenth of a second.
Units use exact definitions: 1 mile is 1,609.344 m, 1 nautical mile is 1,852 m, and 1 knot is 1 nautical mile per hour.
Entered values must be greater than zero. Other results are rounded to 6 significant digits.

Questions and answers
How do I calculate speed from distance and time?
Divide distance by time. 42.195 km in 3 hours 30 minutes is 42.195 / 3.5, about 12.06 km/h.
How long does it take to drive 300 miles at 65 mph?
300 / 65 is about 4.615 hours, which is 4 hours 36 minutes 55 seconds.
What is a knot?
A knot is one nautical mile per hour, or exactly 1.852 km/h. It is used at sea and in aviation.
