Hourly to salary questions
How do I turn an hourly rate into an annual salary?
Multiply hourly pay by paid hours per week and paid weeks per year. At 40 hours and 52 paid weeks, $25 an hour equals $52,000 a year.
Can I use this for part-time work?
Yes. Enter your paid hours per week and choose how many weeks you expect to be paid. At the same hourly rate, fewer paid hours or weeks mean lower annual pay.
Do these amounts include taxes?
These are gross amounts, meaning pay before taxes and deductions. Net pay is what remains after those amounts are taken out; use the paycheck calculator to estimate take-home pay.
Why does the calculator start with 52 weeks?
The starting schedule assumes pay for all 52 weeks of the year, including any paid leave, at 40 hours per week. That gives 2,080 paid hours per year. Daily pay assumes eight hours, while monthly and twice-monthly pay divide annual pay by 12 and 24; overtime premiums are excluded.
