Data & research

Data Operations Manager

Michigan · Full timeApply for this role

About SnowRock

SnowRock is a data brokerage connecting U.S. business owners with buyers seeking data for AI training and evaluation. We research potential matches and coordinate introductions. Owners agree licenses and deliver data directly to buyers.

About this role

A data opportunity can involve an owner, a buyer, their technical reviewers and people preparing files. Progress depends on knowing which decision comes next and who is responsible for it. You will build the operating process that keeps those conversations and assignments moving without losing important details.

You will work with the founder and colleagues across sourcing, research and partnerships. The role covers planning, coordination and process improvement, from an agreed brief to the buyer’s review and commercial follow-through. Data owners handle their licenses and deliver material directly to buyers. You will coordinate those handoffs and identify preparation work that needs a separate provider, cost or agreement.

This role is based in Michigan, with SnowRock locations in Ludington and Traverse City. We will discuss work arrangements during the hiring process.

What you will do

  • Turn agreed assignments into a practical plan with named owners, dependencies, milestones and a clear definition of what each step completes.
  • Maintain a current record of sourcing status, buyer questions, owner responses and the decisions needed to move an opportunity forward.
  • Coordinate reviews and introductions so participants receive the context they need without repeatedly asking for information already provided.
  • Identify delays caused by unclear requirements, missing approvals, preparation work or unavailable reviewers, and propose a specific way to resolve them.
  • Track agreed fee milestones and payment status with partnerships colleagues, distinguishing a signed agreement, an earned fee and money actually received.
  • Create useful templates and handoff notes, and simplify steps that add effort without helping an owner or buyer make a decision.
  • Review completed and stopped assignments to improve estimates, reduce repeated mistakes and understand where SnowRock spends time.

What you bring

  • Evidence of coordinating work across several organizations or functions, including an example where the original plan needed to change.
  • Ability to turn a broad request into tasks, dependencies and realistic milestones.
  • Comfort using spreadsheets and shared work systems to keep records accurate and explain priorities.
  • Clear written communication and the judgment to raise a problem early with a useful recommendation.
  • Experience in operations, project management, supplier coordination or equivalent work with meaningful delivery responsibility.

Additional experience we value

  • Experience coordinating data, research or technical service assignments.
  • Familiarity with invoicing, commercial milestones and the distinction between contracted and collected revenue.
  • Experience improving a process using evidence from delays, rework or customer questions.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $270,000–$365,000 USD. Equity and benefits are additional. Your written offer will specify the package for your role.
